Consultation is the process of gathering the opinions, views and ideas of stakeholders in order to generate effective action and positive change. Consultation will often encompass participation and inclusion; engaging and developing shared ownership with stakeholders.
The tools and techniques used include a range of activities such as: focus groups; questionnaires; interviews; discussion fora; creative play and art activities; written submissions; telephone voting/interviews; conferences and debates.
